Meet Jared Mitchell, MD

Originally from Orange, Texas, Dr. Jared Mitchell and his wife, also a family medicine physician, are excited to connect with and be part of the local community, finding The Crossroads a wonderful place to raise their daughters.

Dr. Mitchell is one of the newest family medicine doctors to join Jackson County Hospital District. He is committed to helping residents become healthier and has already found everyone--from patients to other staff members--to be extremely welcoming.

Growing up, Dr. Mitchell suffered from severe stomach pain, which no one could diagnose. One day, he begged for a surgeon to take a look at him. It was then finally discovered that he'd been living with appendicitis for four years. Then and there, Dr. Mitchell decided to study medicine in hopes of comforting and assisting others.

He was a double major in college, earning his B.S. in both Marketing and Psychology from Houston Baptist University, before attending the Medical University of the Americas, where he was awarded his M.D. He enjoys working with nonprofit organizations, is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, as well as a member of Texas Academy of Family Physicians. His certifications include PALS, ACLS, and ATLS.

When he's not working, Dr. Mitchell likes to spend time with his family, hunt, fish, and eat tacos.
