Cardio-pulmonary rehab program
With Jackson County Hospital District's Outpatient Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, you will receive an individualized treatment plan designed around your specific needs.
Our trained health care providers can help improve the lives of those that suffer from cardiac and pulmonary problems. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on exercise conditioning, strength training, breathing retraining, diet and nutrition, and emotional support services.
The plan is developed jointly with you and the healthcare professionals providing your treatment. The Medical Director oversees all patient care from start to finish. Most patients come for two or three treatment visits a week but plans are determined by progress.
Our patients experience improved self-confidence and increased involvement in daily activities. Through the combination of our staff expertise and our commitment to working closely with patients, we aim to reduce hospitalizations, increase independence, and lessen complications of cardiac pulmonary disease.

Qualifying for Pulmonary Rehab Services
Admission to Jackson County Hospital's Outpatient Pulmonary Rehab services requires a referral from a physician. The Respiratory Therapist will consult with your physician and send progress reports on a regular basis. Most insurances pay for Pulmonary Rehab services & we can also help the uninsured.
Timeframe of Program/ Visits
Most patients complete treatment within 10-15 weeks, with 2-3 appointments per week. This will be worked out and agreed upon between the patient and the Respiratory Therapist. Upon discharge from the Pulmonary Rehab program at JCHD, the patient will be encouraged to join the maintenance program at the JCHD wellness center. This will help the patient to keep up with the benefits gained from the program on their own. Once discharged the patient will have the option to participate in the maintenance for 1 year at no cost.
